The rest of Francis Ngannou ’s year will be focused on his anticipated boxing match with Tyson Fury. Once that’s complete, though, he is expected to return to MMA and debut in the PFL. After concluding his UFC contract and splitting from the promotion earlier this year, Ngannou (17-3) signed with PFL for an expected debut in early 2024. There’s no clear-cut opponent for him, however, and KSW co-owner Martin Lewandowski has a pitch involving his current heavyweight champion, Phil De Fries . “For me, Phil De Fries is one of the best heavyweights on the planet today. He is a different animal than when he was in the UFC last, and he would give anyone in the whole division trouble,” Lewandowski told MMA Junkie

KSW 79 takes place Saturday, Feb. 25 at Home Credit Arena in Liberec, Czech Republic, which marks the return of UFC veteran Todd Duffee as he gets set for a rematch with heavyweight champion Phil De Fries . The two big men first met way back in December 2012 at UFC 155, where Duffee (9-3) handed De Fries (22-6) a brutal defeat by first-round TKO. Things have changed drastically since then, with 36-year-old De Fries riding a 10-fight winning streak and going for his eighth consecutive title defense, while Duffee, 37, is coming out of retirement to compete for the first time in three-and-a-half years. KSW 60 set for April 24, sees Tomasz Narkun shoot for champ-champ status in rematch with Phil De Fries

A rematch two years in the making headlines KSW 60 , with KSW heavyweight champ Phil De Fries putting his title on the line against light heavyweight titleholder Tomasz Narkun . De Fries (19-6) scored a five-round decision win over Narkun (18-3) in their initial meeting, which took place in March 2019. The loss serves as Narkun’s lone setback over his past 10 appearances.
