Poliana Botelho is the newest member of the Bellator roster. On Wednesday, the promotion announced that flyweight Botelho (9-5 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), a former UFC fighter, has signed an exclusive multifight contract with Bellator. News of the signing was first reported by Ag. Fight . Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the promotion didn’t announce a debut date or opponent

Karine Silva ’s 11th career first-round stoppage was her most significant to date. Silva (15-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made quick work of Poliana Botelho (8-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) in the opening round of their women’s flyweight bout on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 207 , which took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. After landing a thumping punch that put her opponent on the canvas, Silva jumped on top and sliced through her opponent’s defense and into the D’Arce choke, which was just the second finish of its kind in women’s UFC history. It was in deep, too, because Botelho tapped with just five seconds left in the opening round. Gillian Robertson overtook the top spot on the UFC women’s flyweight wins list Saturday when she beat Poliana Botelho at UFC on ESPN+ 38. After overcoming some early resistance, Robertson (9-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) put her superior ground skills to work and controlled Botelho (8-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) en route to a unanimous decision win by scores of 29-28, 29-27 and 29-27. The women’s flyweight bout was part of the UFC on ESPN+ 38 preliminary card at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It streamed on ESPN+.
