Silva made the announcement via social media on Thursday that he’s running from ‘Federal Deputy for Paraná , one of the 26 states in Brazil. The 46-year old Curitiba native wants to continue his fighting for the people as a representative. ” It’s now official: I’m a candidate for Federal Deputy! I made this decision because a lot of people complain about our country, a lot of people say that here nothing goes right, that nothing works. To change this scenario, I’m making myself available as a candidate for Federal Deputy for Paraná. Our State has never had a good name athlete representing us and I want to be that person.

Emelianenko held the Pride FC heavyweight title from 2003 to 2006. In an eight-year span, the Russian strung together an unprecedented 28-fight winning streak. He’s widely regarded as the greatest heavyweight of all time. “He’s always going to be my favorite. It was the first highlight reel I ever saw of MMA. I loved his style and how he came from a Judo-Sambo background, and I really try to emulate his style every time that I fight,” said Rousey. Emelianenko retired from fighting on June 12, 2012 following a first-round knockout win over former UFC heavyweight contender Pedro Rizzo in St. Petersburg, Russia. He takes on fellow Brazilian and MMA legend Antionio Rodrigo Nogueira in the UFC on Fuel TV 10 main event on Saturday in hopes of moving one step closer to a title fight. The two have fought once before in Japan under the Pride FC banner. Nogueira won the fight by unanimous decision, but this time Werdum feels things are going to be much different. “I think this fight will be a lot different than our last fight in 2006. Rampage Jackson Eyes Heavyweight Fights for Bellator, Movies for Paramount

The news broke on Tuesday that Bellator MMA , in combination with TNA Wrestling and Spike TV, had signed UFC and Pride veteran Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to a multi-faceted, multi-year contract. The deal encompasses mixed martial arts competition for Bellator, professional wrestling for TNA, and various movie and media opportunities via Spike and parent company Viacom. Rampage fielded questions from the media on Wednesday, saying that the deal has renewed his passion for fighting, and added that he is considering fighting for Bellator at heavyweight. He had been competing at 205 pounds in his final days with Pride FC and during his UFC tenure. “I’m not gonna lie. I lost a lot of love for MMA when I was back in the UFC ,” Rampage declared.
