Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou made his Professional Fighters League (PFL) debut last weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. ”The Predator” took on Renan Ferreira in the fight card’s main event and scored a first-round knockout. Ngannou perfectly timed a takedown attempt, ducking under a punch from Ferreira and putting the Brazilian on his back. He maintained position, fended off a triangle choke attempt and delivered left hands until Ferreira was removed from consciousness

After more than two years away from the sport, the former UFC heavyweight champion returned to the cage this past Saturday in the main event of PFL: Battle of the Giants , where he stopped Renan Ferreira in the first round of their contest. Remember, although out of the UFC, Ngannou left as champion. His successful comeback certainly makes things interesting, not only for the PFL, but for the heavyweight landscape in general. Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou made his promotional debut on Saturday headlining the PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants fight card against Renan Ferreira in a Superfight heavyweight championship match. The event took place at The Mayadeen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and was Ngannou’s first mixed martial arts bout since January 2022. Ngannou parted ways with the UFC in early 2023 after failing to come to contractual terms. He signed with the PFL but his debut was put on hold while he fought Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in boxing matches.
