For the first time, CES MMA will set up shop in the state of New York, and there already are some intriguing names on the card. “CES MMA: Forte vs. Secor” will take place May 4 at The Space at Westbury in Westbury, N.Y., the promotion today announced. The card will not get a broadcast on AXS TV, like typically is the case, however. In the main event, UFC veteran Renee Forte (8-4) will take on Bellator and WSOF vet Matt Secor (9-5) at lightweight. DALLAS – Frank Trevino may not have gotten off to a great start against Renee Forte , but what matters more is how he finished. After having the Brazilian stuck to his back early on, Trevino battled back in Rounds 2 and 3 to win a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). The lightweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 171 event at American Airlines Center in Dallas. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 2 and a main card on pay-per-view.

After stating his desire to sign with the promotion and finally get a long-awaited UFC contract, undefeated MMA vet Frank Trevino is now set for his promotional debut. Trevino (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), a Mexican-born fighter now living in Texas, will drop from welterweight and meet fellow lightweight Renee Forte (8-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at UFC 171. UFC officials today announced that verbal agreements are in place for the fight. UFC 171 takes place March 15 at Dallas’ American Airlines Center
