Richard Odoms is a police officer, and would like nothing more than to do his ranks proud with a major piece of hardware. The 42-year-old Odoms (12-3) meets Jared Vanderaa (5-0) in the LFA 15 main event tonight at Firelake Arena in Shawnee, Okla. The main card airs on AXS TV.

Magomedov-Odoms off UFC 177, Edwards-Medeiros moved to main card

The UFC 177 changes keep on coming. UFC newcomer Richard Odoms (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been forced out of his heavyweight fight against Ruslan Magomedov (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) later this month. UFC officials announced the news on Monday and said no replacement will be sought for Magomedov for the card. Instead, he’ll be booked for a future show. The UFC does expect a new fight to take its place at UFC 177, though. That bout is expected to be announced soon.

A new heavyweight contest has been added to next month’s UFC 177 event in California. Ruslan Magomedov (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Richard Odoms (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) have been booked for the card, officials recently announced. UFC 177 takes place Aug. 30 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. The event’s main card, including two title fights, airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass
