Ex-UFC fighter Roger Huerta emerges for PFL fight booking after years-long hiatus

Roger Huerta isn’t done yet. It’s been more than three years since he’s had a fight on the books, but Huerta (24-13-1) is back and will face fellow UFC alum Robert Whiteford (16-5) at 2024 PFL Europe 3, the promotion announced Wednesday. The event takes place Sept. 28 in Glasgow, Scotland. The fight is contracted for a weight of 150 pounds and will serve as the co-main event. A welterweight fight between former UFC fighter Stevie Ray (25-13) and Lewis Long (19-7) is slated to headline.

LONDON – Michael Page gave his hometown fans what they wanted as he closed the show in style at Bellator Europe 6 with the latest addition to his spectacular highlight reel. Page (16-1 MMA, 12-1 BMMA) finished late-notice replacement Giovanni Melillo in just 107 seconds with a thumping right hand to bring the SSE Arena crowd to their feet at the end of a dramatic main card in England’s capital. Page was originally set to face American Derek Anderson, but a late injury to “Barbaric” meant Bellator needed a short-notice replacement. And while Italy’s Melillo (13-5 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) stepped up to the plate, he found himself hopelessly outgunned in a fight where he barely laid a glove on the Brit, who found a home for his strikes almost immediately. A slick three-punch combination signaled Page’s intent to claim a fast finish as he showed a visibly more aggressive pace than we’ve seen from him in some of his past fights. And, after backing his man up with a mixture of sharp punches and the occasional low kick, Melillo looked to launch an attack of his own.

Ian Entwistle The lineup is set for the UFC’s debut in Croatia next month with the addition of three new fights, including one involving an unbeaten Romanian newcomer. With the addition of the three fights, the 13-bout lineup for UFC Fight Night 86 is complete, though the bout order is still to be determined. Joining the car is a bantamweight fight between Ian Entwistle (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Alejandro Perez (16-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC); a featherweight fight featuring Lucas Martins (15-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) vs. Robert Whiteford (12-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC); and a women’s strawweight contest between Maryna Moroz (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and promotional newcomer Cristina Stanciu (5-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC). UFC officials announced the new fights today.
