ONE Championship’s first event on Amazon Prime has taken a hit to the lineup. Rodtang Jitmuangnon has pulled out of his muay Thai flyweight grand prix semifinal bout due to illness. His bout against Savvas Michael has been scratched from the event which takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with a ONE Championship official following an initial report from MMA Fighting . ONE on Prime Video 1 will proceed with 9 total fights, consisting of four muay Thai bouts and five MMA fights

Former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson ventured into the unknown at ONE X , and he came out with a slick submission finish over Rodtang Jitmuangnon . Johnson, a former UFC flyweight titleholder, has spent the past few years working his craft with ONE Championship in Asia. He was placed in a unique special rules fight with Rodtang in Saturday’s co-main event, which alternated muay Thai with MMA rules through each round. After surviving the fire of Rodtang’s sensational striking in the opening frame, he turned the tables in the MMA rules by taking the fight to the ground, locking in a rear-naked choke and putting his opponent to sleep . ONE Championship’s 10-year anniversary event, ONE X, took place Saturday at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore, with a 20-fight lineup that included 11 MMA bouts and a special bout involving one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. In the main event, atomweight champion Angela Lee returned from a two-and-a-half year absence to defend her tile against Stamp Fairtex . And in the co-main event, former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson stepped into an unknown realm against muay Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a mixed-rules bout scheduled for alternating rounds of muay Thai and MMA. Also on the main card, flyweight champion Adriano Moraes put his title on the line against Yuya Wakamatsu , while Japanese legends Yoshihiro Akiyama and Shinya Aoki squared off in a highly anticipated 170-pound matchup. Rich Franklin: Demetrious Johnson vs. Rodtang bout at ONE X brings back ‘original concept of MMA’

Rich Franklin is all in on ONE Championship’s latest invention. Franklin, a former UFC middleweight champion and current Vice President of ONE Championship, is very much enjoying the company’s new venture putting together fights that mix the styles and rules from various combat sports. The Asia-based promotion currently has a high-profile mixed rules fight coming up on Saturday’s ONE X event involving former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and muay Thai star Rodtang Jitmuangnon . The contest is set for four, three-minute rounds that alternate between muay Thai and MMA rules. The fight will start under muay Thai rules and will switch over the following rounds, pending a finish. Initially, Franklin said he wasn’t a big fan of the idea, because he wanted a traditional approach to ONE Championship’s MMA events.

Fight week for ONE X is underway ahead of Saturday’s 10-year anniversary event. On Wednesday, competitors of the event, which features muay Thai, kickboxing, submission grappling, mixed rules, and MMA fights, came face-to-face after the pre-fight press conference. In MMA competition, the main card features two title fights. In the main event, Angela Lee will defend her atomweight championship against Stamp Fairtex and Adriano Moraes will put his flyweight title on the line against Yuya Wakamatsu
