Final Fight Championship 37 took place this past Thursday at the Fight Dome at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, and a couple of big-show veterans picked up stoppage wins in their promotional debuts. In the FFC 37 headliner, three-time UFC veteran Mike Santiago (22-12) picked up a second-round TKO victory in his first post-octagon appearance, outstriking 16-year pro Alonzo Martinez (47-23-1) in a 160-pound catchweight contest.

UFC vet John Howard headlines CES MMA 46 vs. Roger Carroll in Rhode Island

A former CES MMA champion is returning to the promotion to headline an event in Rhode Island next month. John Howard (24-13), who went 7-7 over two separate seven-fight stints with the UFC, is returning to the promotion he once held a middleweight title for to take on Roger Carroll (16-14) in the CES MMA 46 main event. The show will take place Oct. 27 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I. The main card will air on AXS TV.

‘The Leprechaun’ in against ‘Irish’ Brennan Ward at Friday’s Bellator 140

Brennan Ward If you’re looking for a late-replacement to face a man who uses “Irish” as a fighting nickname, you can’t do much better than a man who calls himself “The Leprechaun.” That’s exactly what is happening as Roger Carroll (16-11 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will face “Irish” Brennan Ward (10-3 MMA, 6-3 BMMA) this Friday at Bellator 140. The promotion announced the change to the line-up via a press release.
