Angela Lee An injury to middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash has caused a shuffle at the top of next month’s ONE Championship 42 card in Singapore, but the event still will have a pair of title fights. Bigdash (8-0) has suffered an injury, the promotion today announced, and is out of the main event against challenger Aleksei Butorin (10-0). The original co-headliner between Angela Lee (5-0) and Mei Yamaguchi (15-8-1) now will serve as the main event to crown the inaugural ONE Championship women’s atomweight titleholder. The new co-main event between Roger Gracie (7-2) and Michal Pasternak (11-0) now will be for the promotion’s inaugural light heavyweight title

Former Strikeforce and UFC fighter Roger Gracie is among seven new roster additions that ONE FC today announced. Gracie (6-2), a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and world champion grappler, went 4-1 with Strikeforce before signing with the UFC. However, following a unanimous-decision loss to Tim Kennedy at UFC 162 in 2013, his contract wasn’t renewed. The Kennedy fight remains the 32-year-old’s most recent pro MMA appearance

Decorated submission grappler Roger Gracie (6-2) plans to move from the U.K. to the U.S. to train full-time at Blackhouse MMA in Southern California. Gracie’s manager, Ed Soares, who also runs the Blackhouse gym, said the switch will help the fighter better prepare for his bouts. “I think he just needs more time to prepare for fights,” Soares today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “In his last few fights, he hasn’t been able to get a full training camp here.” Blackhouse MMA is located in Gardena, Calif., and also hosts top fighters Lyoto Machida , Glover Teixeira , Pedro Rizzo , and ex-champ Anderson Silva , who trains there when not in his native Brazil

Renzo Gracie teases potential return to fighting – with UFC or ONE FC

Working out with Frankie Edgar and Roger Gracie has Renzo Gracie thinking about a return to the cage. Whether it’s in the UFC or somewhere else remains to be seen, but the MMA forefather said he could be fighting in the next five months. “I’ve been training with these guys, and they’re as tough as you can get,” Gracie (13-7 MMA, 0-1 UFC) told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). “I’ve been hanging around with them and having fun, so for sure I’ll be ready [by] the end of the year to have some fun too.” Of course, the jiu-jitsu master, who’s been a threat to any mere hoodlum looking for trouble on the streets, would rather have his fun in the octagon. That’s where he last strapped on gloves and fought, and while his UFC 112 bout with UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes didn’t go his way – and wasn’t exactly must-see TV – he remains under contract with the promotion
