UFC officials today announced that Poland’s Adam Wieczorek (10-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has stepped in on short notice to replace Russia’s Ruslan Magomedov and will now face Brazil’s Marcos Rogerio de Lim a (15-5-1 MMA, 4-3 UFC) on the night’s UFC Fight Pass-streamed early prelims, which precede the evening’s FS1 prelims and pay-per-view main card. UFC heavyweight Ruslan Magomedov notified of potential USADA anti-doping violation

After an infection forced Ruslan Magomedov from his planned UFC 204 bout with Stefan Struve, the news has gotten even worse for the 29-year-old Russian. The UFC today released a statement saying the fighter had been notified of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation. According to the statement, the United States Anti-Doping Agency – the independent administrator of the policy – notified both fighter and promotion of the result of an out-of-competition sample collection made on September 7, 2016. Magomedov hasn’t fought since an October 2015 decision victory over Shawn Jordan.

Stefan Struve needs a new heavyweight opponent for next month’s UFC 204 event. Struve’s (27-8 MMA, 11-6 UFC) original opponent, Ruslan Magomedov (14-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), has been sidelined with a staph infection, a UFC official confirmed with MMAjunkie. A time table for his recovery wasn’t immediately known. A replacement search is underway. UFC 204 takes place Oct. 8 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Ruslan Magomedov injured, out of UFC Fight Night 86 bout in Croatia vs. Gabriel Gonzaga

An injury has knocked a heavyweight off next month’s UFC debut in Croatia, and a former title challenger is in need of a new opponent. Ruslan Magomedov (14-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has been forced off UFC Fight Night 86 with an injury, and longtime UFC fighter and former title challenger Gabriel Gonzaga (17-10 MMA, 12-9 UFC) needs a new foe for the card. Magomedov announced his injury on his Twitter account, saying he hurt his knee and “can barely walk.” He posted an x-ray image of his knee, as well. UFC officials are yet to announce the injury or a new opponent for Gonzaga for the card
