UFC and Bellator Veteran Paul Daley Signs One-Year, Three-Fight Deal with BAMMA

British welterweight Paul “Semtex” Daley has signed a one-year, three-fight deal with BAMMA. Daley (33-12-2) announced the news on Tuesday via his Facebook page. “Yes, I have signed to BAMMA. Exclusive to the UK, still expect to see me fighting around the world with other organizations, such as in November in Russia with LEGEND,” Daley wrote. Daley was recently released from Bellator MMA on July 25 due to legal troubles stemming from a bar fight in his native England and visa issues that prevented him from traveling to the U.S. The new deal marks Daley’s return to BAMMA. The 30-year-old has previously fought twice for the British-based organization, missing weight both times. “Semtex” feels the conditions of the contract are perfect for his current situation.

Paul Daley ‘s return date to the U.S. still isn’t known, but for now, he’s racking up victories in his native England. “Semtex” looked sharp as ever in a first-round stoppage of Polish contender Lukasz Chlewicki (10-3-1). The bout served as the main event of Saturday’s Cage Warriors 57 event, which took place at Echo Arena at Liverpool, Merseyside, England, and streamed in North America on MMAjunkie.com. Daley (33-12-2) took the center of the cage early, but Chlewicki showed no signs of fear, as he fired off punches from the outside.

Long-running U.K. promotion Cage Warriors has secured two Bellator fighters for what looks set to be one of the best English MMA cards of the year. Ronnie Mann and Paul Daley will both be in action at the show, which is set for the Echo Arena in Liverpool on July 20. The main event of Cage Warriors 57 sees Daley (32-12-2) take on Poland’s Lukasz Chlewicki (10-2) in a welterweight clash. It will be the first time the UFC and Strikeforce veteran has fought in his native England since 2011. Daley signed for Bellator a year ago and made a successful promotional debut, stopping Rudy Bears in the opening round. Visa issues stemming from an ongoing legal case have since prevented “Semtex” from returning to fight in the U.S. He has kept busy in the interim, registering stoppage wins over Patrick Vallee in Ireland and Rodrigo Ribeiro in Dubai
