Bellator 192 medical suspensions: Rory MacDonald faces potential six months for gnarly leg

The “person growing inside” new Bellator welterweight champ Rory MacDonald could keep him benched for six months. MacDonald (20-4 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) joked about a gruesome injury to his right leg after outpointing Douglas Lima (29-7 MMA, 11-3 BMMA) to win the belt at Bellator 192 . But he also suffered a potentially broken hand. And unless he gets a doctor’s clearance, his time off will be no laughing matter. MMAjunkie today requested and received a list of medical suspensions stemming from this past Saturday’s event, which took place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.

Aaron Pico pulls off body-shot finish even nastier and faster than earlier one at Bellator 192

It’s almost as if Aaron Pico saw the body shot finish from earlier in the night at Bellator 192 and thought, “Yeah, that looks fun, but I wonder if I could do it even faster.” And so Pico (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) went out against Shane Kruchten and hammered left hooks to the liver until Kruchten crumpled up against the cage, earning Pico a TKO finish that was two seconds faster than the one recorded earlier in the night by Joey Davis. In fact, it kind of seemed like it was a big part of Pico’s plan, what with the way he immediately attacked the midsection of Kruchten with punches. None of them seemed particularly pleasant to be on the receiving end of, but the final one was positively nasty. The way Kruchten went down, it was immediately clear that he wasn’t getting up any time soon, and wasn’t going to feel great once he did.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – MMA super prospect Aaron Pico showed again that his debut loss was nothing more than a stumble when he scored another devastating knockout at Bellator 192. Pico (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) followed up his “Knockout of the Year” candidate in his previous bout with a crushing body-shot finish just 37 seconds into the opening round of his fight against Shane Kruchten (12-4 MMA, 0-1 BMMA). The bout featherweight fight was part today’s Bellator 192 main card.
