June’s Cage Warriors 69 to feature two main cards, two title fights in London

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship is going all in for its June event in London. The promotion on Tuesday announced that Cage Warriors 69 will be christened “Super Saturday” and will feature two main cards. Then the England-based promotion will take a hiatus of more than two months while soccer’s World Cup plays out. Cage Warriors 69 is set for June 7 at The Forum in London, and already announced for the card was a fight for the vacant lightweight title between Curt Warburton (13-4) and Stevie Ray (14-5). Cage Warriors 64 results: Cory Tait taps out James Pennington in first

James Pennington may have had the right idea against Cory Tait early in their Cage Warriors 64 main event. But Tait had other plans. He fought through Pennington’s early takedown, then managed to latch on to his neck midway through the fight. That was all Tait needed for a guillotine choke win that seemed to have Pennington in shock. Cage Warriors 64 took place at The Forum in London and was the promotion’s first card of 2014. Cage Warriors 61 results: James Brum grinds out Marat Pekov in main event

James Brum made the best of a bad situation on Friday. Brum was supposed to fight for Cage Warriors’ bantamweight title last week. With that fight against Brett Johns off, Brum stayed busy against Marat Pekov , instead. He survived a rough patch in the first round, then rolled to a unanimous decision win to stay on track in the main event of Cage Warriors 61 . Cage Warriors 61 took place at King Hussein Youth City Boxing Arena in Amman, Jordan.
