Overeem (36-12, 1 no contest) will be looking to strike with Browne (14-1-1), but is prepared for where ever the fight takes place. “I’m a striker and I’m looking for that striking game. Despite previous reports indicating the UFC was planning to hold an event in Brazil on Nov. 15, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has confirmed the promotion is not expected to venture to the South American MMA hotbed on that date. Sources close to the promotion indicated that preliminary talks to host a Nov. 15 event in Brazil may have taken place at some point but that UFC officials never formally confirmed such plans. Brazilian MMA reporter Guilherme Cruz first tweeted news of the potential event, which would have taken place on Brazil’s Republic Day national holiday. MMA Fighting later linked the rumored event, expected to serve as the fourth UFC on FOX Sports 1 event, to Goiania, Goias, Brazil.

A battle between top flyweights Jussier “Formiga” da Silva and Joseph Benavidez has been agreed to for the as yet unannounced UFC on Fox Sports 1 #3 event planned for September in Brazil. Brazilian website Globo.com first reported the bout. One of the most highly touted fighters entering the UFC’s 125-pound division, Formiga (15-2) fell short in his promotional debut, losing by TKO to John Dodson. He bounced back in may of this year, winning a unanimous decision over Chris Cariaso at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil. Benavidez (18-3) was part of the UFC’s four-man flyweight championship tournament, defeating Yasuhiro Urushitani in the opening round, but losing to Johnson in the final. Manny Gamburyan vs. Cole Miller Added to UFC on Fox Sports 1 Event in Boston

The first UFC on Fox Sports 1 fight card is hitting the upper limits with its thirteenth bout. A featherweight bout between Manny Gamburyan and Cole Miller was the latest addition. UFC official on Tuesday announced the new bout. Gamburyan (12-7) has had a slow start to his UFC tenure since moving over from the WEC nearly three years ago. During that period, he’s only fought three times, primarily due to various injuries that have forced him out of fights. He lost his first two fights in the Octagon, but finally scored a victory with a unanimous decision over Michihiro Omigawa last August at UFC on Fox 4. Gamburyan was slated to return at last month’s UFC on FX 8, but was again forced out due to injury. He’ll instead head to the Octagon at the UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 event in August.
