Joe Rogan has been a major staple in the success of mixed martial arts over the years. He has helped the UFC grow from the ground up but the commentator isn’t a fan of everything the promotion does. One major disagreement Rogan has with the UFC is the implementation of USADA. Since 2015, the United States Anti-Doping Agency has been partnered with the fight company. It is tasked with protecting athletes by removing banned substances from the octagon through its extensive research into sports science, though it has caused friction among the combat sports fanbase due to their divided opinions on the organization. Surprisingly, the popular MMA figure wants the anti-doping agency away from the sport.

‘Cyborg’ Santos happy for second chance ahead of Invicta FC 6 fight with Coenen

Cristiane Santos knows a thing or two about second chances. She’s in the middle of one right now, and she hopes it culminates with another world title. Santos (11-1) on Saturday meets Marloes Coenen (21-5) in a rematch at Invicta FC 6 – and Invicta’s featherweight title will be on the line. It will be just the second fight for “Cyborg” since returning to action after a 16-month layoff that included a suspension following a positive steroids test that led to her being stripped of her Strikeforce title. But with Invicta, where she won her first fight back from the layoff with a first-round TKO of Fiona Muxlow in April, “Cyborg” feels rejuvenated – and happy for another opportunity. Invicta FC 6 takes place Saturday at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo.

UFC 161′s Pat Barry gives surprising take on steroids in MMA

WINNIPEG – Considering he’s a guy who’s usually already at a disadvantage by fighting guys who tower over him and weigh more, you may be surprised just how little Pat Barry cares about his fellow heavyweights using performance-enhancing drugs. Barry (8-5 MMA, 5-5 UFC) , who fights friend Shawn Jordan (14-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) on Saturday’s UFC 161 pay-per-view main card, suffered a May 2012 loss to Lavar Johnson . The fan favorite then watched Johnson test positive for elevated levels of testosterone just two fights later. While fans were quick to surmise that Johnson may have been using banned substances in their fight too, Barry scoffs at the notion and quickly dismisses it. In fact, he said he doesn’t care if fighters are using them. He doesn’t, he said. But others? It’s of no concern.
