Steve Carl Titan FC heads to Miami this spring, and a local standout and former WSOF champion has joined the promotion looking for another belt. Ex-WSOF titleholder Steve Carl (22-4) will meet Belal Muhammad (8-0) for the vacant welterweight title at Titan FC 38, the promotion recently announced. The card takes place April 30 at Miccosukee Casino in Miami and will stream live at UFC Fight Pass. “Titan FC 38 is a perfect example of our business model,” Titan FC CEO Jeff Aronson stated

More concerning, they just their most experienced vet when former WSOF champ Steve Carl got tapped by the lesser-experienced Valdir Araujo . “I just felt disconnected, like I wasn’t in there,” Carl reports to his teammates in the locker room. “I’ll tell you right now, you’re the last guy I expected to hear that from,” replies ATT head Dan Lambert.

Former WSOF champ Steve Carl voices frustrations, granted release

Former WSOF welterweight champion Steve Carl has voiced his grievances with the promotion over the past few days. His management team requested a release from the organization, and WSOF officials have fulfilled their wishes. Carl’s social-media grievances have earned him a release from his contract, MMAjunkie has learned. Carl (21-4) has expressed frustration over his infrequent fight schedule. The 29-year-old has competed just four times in the past two years and was unhappy he had nothing scheduled for the immediate future.

Some fighters believe that over-preparing for opponents’ strengths is the key to success, but World Series of Fighting welterweight champion Steve Carl isn’t one of them. Although Carl (21-3) faces arguably the best leglock artist to compete in MMA when he meets Rousimar Palhares (15-5) at Saturday’s WSOF 9 event, he told MMAjunkie Radio that he didn’t make submission defense a priority in training camp. “It’s not something I concentrated on the entire camp because that’s how he’s going to win, not how I’m going to win,” Carl said.
