Report: UFC women’s champ Ronda Rousey will join cast of ‘Fast and Furious 7′

The hits just keep on coming for Ronda Rousey . The UFC’s women’s bantamweight champ will be the centerpiece of the upcoming Season 18 of “The Ultimate Fighter” when it debuts on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network next month. And in July, news broke of her first major movie role when action film legend and soon-to-be-costar Sylvester Stallone announced Rousey had signed on for “The Expendables 3″ – which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) was first to report currently is set to be a major part in the 2014 release. Now Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has another big opportunity lined up.

UFC Champ Ronda Rousey in Negotiations to Follow Up Expendables 3 with Fast & Furious 7

When UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey goes after something, she goes full steam ahead. On the heels of Sylvester Stallone ’s announcement that Rousey would join the cast of Expendables 3 , Hollywood trade publication Variety reports that the champ is in heavy negotiations to follow-up Expendables 3 with a role in Fast & Furious 7. If the deal gets finalized, Rousey would line up alongside Fast & Furious stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker for the movie’s seventh iteration. The most recent edition of the franchise, Fast & Furious 6, has been wildly successful, racking up box office receipts of more than $770 million worldwide. Shooting for both Expendables 3 and Fast & Furious 7 would take place this fall and wrap before Rousey’s fight camp for her rematch with Miesha Tate at UFC 168 on Dec. 28. Rousey would also continue to train while on-location for both films.

Rumors began swirling that UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey would start taking on movie roles almost the second that she signed with WME (William Morris Endeavor), the largest and oldest talent agency in the world. While most speculation centered on her possibly landing a role in one of the Hunger Games sequels, it appears that Rousey will be taking a part in the next iteration of The Expendables. Sylvester Stallone , who wrote and stars in The Expendables franchise of films, announced the news via Twitter on Tuesday night. “Ronda Rousey will show championship form in Expendables 3! Ronda Rousey signed with the William Morris Endeavor talent agency earlier this year, and now she has her first major movie role. The UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion has landed a role in the upcoming “Expendables 3″ action flick. Screenplay writer and star Sylvester Stallone announced the news late Tuesday on his official Twitter account. Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is coming off yet another first-round armbar victory. She stopped Liz Carmouche in February in the main event of UFC 157, the first women’s fight in UFC history. She currently is taping Season 18 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which she’ll coach opposite her fiercest rival, Miesha Tate . The two then will meet in a rematch for Rousey’s title at UFC 168 in December in Las Vegas. It is unknown when Rousey’s work on “Expendables 3″ will begin or how extensive a role she will have in the film, which also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jackie Chan, Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagal and former UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture – essentially a who’s who of Hollywood action stars.
