Valerie Loureda punched her ticket back into the win column at Bellator 271. Entering a fight off a loss for the first time as a professional, Loureda (4-1 MMA, 4-1 BMMA) defeated Taylor Turner (5-8 MMA, 1-2 BMMA) via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27) on the preliminary card. Bellator 271 took place Friday at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The main card aired on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie. The fight took place in the striking department, largely from a distance. A lengthy flyweight fighter at 5-foot-10 with a 71-inch reach, Turner tried to utilize her height and length to her advantage.

The 25-year-old Lara (8-3 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) defeated Taylor Turner (4-6 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) by first-round TKO in her bantamweight debut at Webster Bank Arena. In the opening minute, Lara took down her opposing foe Turner and eventually landed in the back sidemount. The two fighters eventually rose to their feet, but Lara dragged the bout to the ground once again

Hardy (2-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) will meet Taylor Turner (3-5 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in a women’s flyweight matchup on the card. Bellator officials confirmed the bout with MMA Junkie following an initial report from Newsday.com . Bellator 222 takes place June 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The main card streams on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie. Hardy, 37, is a world champion boxer who first tried her stake at MMA when Bellator made its first visit to her home state of New York in June 2017.
