A late addition to the Rizin FF 33 lineup features a kickboxing dynamo and a Japanese MMA legend. Promotion officials recently announced that striking specialist Tenshin Nasukawa and former PRIDE lightweight champion Takanori Gomi will meet in a special rules match at Rizin FF 33, which takes place on New Year’s Eve at Japan’s famed Saitama Super Arena. The bout is expected to serve as Nasukawa’s final appearance for Rizin before he takes part in a final kickboxing bout against fellow Japanese standout Takeru Segawa in June. The 23-year-old Nasukawa (42-0 kickboxing) then expects to pursue a career in boxing. Rizin officials marked the occasion of his final appearance with a special poster

Floyd Mayweather made light work of Tenshin Nasukawa in his return to the ring for an exhibition contest today at Rizin FF 14. To the surprise of many, Mayweather actually got in the ring against young sensation Nasukawa at Saitama Super Arena, which is near Tokyo, Japan. Once he did, he humiliated Nasukawa with three knockdowns in the first round before Nasukawa’s corner threw in the towel.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Tenshin Nasukawa apparently back on – with no kicks

One week after backing out of a fight with an unclear rule set, Floyd Mayweather is apparently getting back in to a fight with Tenshin Nasukawa [autotag] – with a set of limited rules. Mayweather today told TMZ he’s in line to fight Nasukawa in a “little boxing exhibition” with no kicks allowed. The undefeated boxer did not say whether Rizin FF remains the intended promoter, though the Japan-based promotion said it was working with Mayweather after its original plans collapsed. No word on when or where the bout will take place, but Mayweather really sold the website on its competitive merits. “I’m moving around with the guy for nine minutes, and of course it’s gonna be the highest paid exhibition ever,” Mayweather said.
