UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann 2 took place on Wednesday night at Bankers Life Arena in Indianapolis. There were high expectations in the air for the rematch between former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit and fellow contender Martin Kampmann , and they did not disappoint. Kampmann won a split decision in the first match-up between the two, but Condit would leave no doubts this time, taking Kampann out in the fourth round of their scheduled five-round bout.

Soares, RFA’s president and a longtime MMA manager, is in Milwaukee for his promotion’s latest show, RFA 8, which takes place Friday at The Rave. The main card airs live on AXS TV at 10 p.m. ET. With a main event between Sergio Pettis (7-0), the younger brother of UFC standout Anthony, and Dillard Pegg (5-1), Soares might be wondering if lightning might strike for a third time. “The headliner of RFA 6, James Krause , and the headliner of RFA 7, Brandon Thatch , now are both in the UFC,” Soares on Friday told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio) from Milwaukee just hours ahead of RFA 8. UFC officials on Wednesday announced the addition of a welterweight bout between Justin Edwards and promotional newcomer Brandon Thatch to UFC on Fox Sports 1 #2, which takes place on Aug. 28 in Indianapolis. Edwards (8-2) made his way to the Octagon as a replacement fighter on the thirteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. He didn’t progress far on the reality show, but he has remained with the UFC for the past two years, alternating between wins and losses in his four bouts for the promotion. He enters the fight with Thatch having submitted Josh Neer at UFC on FX 5 last October. Edwards was supposed to have faced Gunnar Nelson in February, but pulled out of the fight due to injury. Thatch (9-1) makes his long awaited UFC debut after having racked up eight consecutive victories. He most recently defeated Mike Rhodes in the RFA 7 main event in March
