Episode 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter 28: Heavy Hitters” opens with tape study for Team Whittaker’s Leah Letson , who meets Team Gastelum’s Macy Chiasson in the second women’s featherweight semifinal later in the episode. Head coach Robert Whittaker believes there is a solid game plan in place for Letson to advance to the tournament final, and after taking a closer look at the tape, Letson is much more confident in what she can expect to see in the octagon. Team Gastelum, meanwhile, is taking a lighthearted approach to training. Head coach Kelvin Gastelum says his team has worked extremely hard throughout he competition and he wants to make things fun with a game of dodgeball. Afterward, the Team Gastelum coaching staff does some film study of its down with Chiasson. They watch her quarterfinal victory over Larissa Pacheco, which ended in a first-round TKO

Episode 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter 28: Heavy Hitters” opens with controversial Team Gastelum team member Maurice Green starting his day with a few cigarettes to help himself relax. He knows the negative impacts smoking has on fighting career but said he’s been doing it for a long time. Team Gastelum’s Justin Frazier talks to Greene about his struggles in the competition that have included multiple drunken confrontations with his fellow cast members. Greene breaks down and becomes emotional over his behavior throughout the competition and said it’s been a much more difficult process than anticipated. Greene visits The Ultimate Fighter Gym, where he meets with head coach Kelvin Gastelum and some of the assistant coaching staff. Coach Gastelum believes Greene has no shortage of potential and could make the heavyweight tournament final, but says he’s not pleased with how the fighter has conducted himself and urges him to get back on track.

The Team Gastelum coaching staff confront Greene over his drinking and tell him to reel things in for the final few weeks of the competition. Greene gets into a verbal altercation with Team Whittaker’s Anderson da Silva. It reaches the cusp of becoming physical, but Team Gastelum returns to TUF House, while Team Whittaker remains in the TUF Gym and decide to order takeout for dinner while the situation defuses. Team Gastelum’s coaching staff, including head coach Kelvin Gastelum , visit the TUF House

So when the UFC held a casting call for women’s featherweight talent, a division sorely lacking in population due to champ Cris Cyborg’s (20-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) outsized presence, Allen (7-2) figured it was the best way to make her entrance.
