The Brazilian MMA athletic commission (CABMMA) on Tuesday announced that a total of 26 drug tests were performed for all fighters at UFC Fight Night 38, and the results came back negative. All 22 fighters on the card were tested for steroids/performance-enhancing drugs, as well as drugs of abuse such as cocaine and marijuana upon arrival to Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Additionally, C.B. Dollaway and Cezar Ferreira from the night’s main card, as well as Kenny Robertson and Thiago Perpetuo from the preliminary card, were selected for random post-fight tests. The commission also told MMAjunkie that headliner Dan Henderson , who was granted what is expected to be the final therapeutic-use exemption for testosterone-replacement therapy by the CABMMA, was tested and found to have a testosterone level under the acceptable limit.

NATAL, Brazil – The submission savvy that brought Kenny Robertson his previous octagon win was again on display as he took on Thiago Perpetuo and earned a quick tapout. Perpetuo, who was making his debut at 170 pounds after a run at middleweight, won top position early in the fight but was quickly outgrappled and submitted with a rear-naked choke. The welterweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 38 event Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following an additional prelim on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. Robertson earned the submission at the 1:45 mark of the first round, shortly after he forced his Brazilian opponent to give up his back by taking mount position and raining down strikes.

After what Thiago Perpetuo went through as a child, stepping into a cage to fight seems like not such a big deal. When “Bodoa” was just 9, doctors found cancer in his shoulder. The result, he said, was two years in the hospital and another five years of treatments. Because of the health issues early in life, Perpetuo is missing a clavicle now – but missing only in the physical sense. “I’m more flexible on the side with no clavicle,” Perpetuo told MMAjunkie.

Nine fights confirmed for UFC Fight Night 38 in Brazil

The UFC’s March show in Brazil has filled out with the confirmation of nine fights. UFC officials on Monday made official the bulk of the card for UFC Fight Night 38, which takes place March 23 at Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. It will be the promotion’s first visit to Natal. A light heavyweight rematch between MMA legends Mauricio Rua (22-8 MMA, 6-6 UFC) and Dan Henderson (29-11 MMA, 6-5 UFC) will serve as the headliner. The main card will air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass. In addition to that main event, Cezar Ferreira (7-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC) meets C.B.
