With five straight wins and an overall 13-2 record, Elvis “The King” Mutapcic is heading into Saturday’s World Series of Fighting as one of the promotion’s premier new additions. During his current streak, Mutapcic has defeated the likes of top prospects Cezar Ferreira and Joseph Henle, and most recently he outlasted Sam Alvey for the MFC 185-pound championship in February. “It felt good to know I had enough gas in the tank to go all five rounds,” said Mutapcic of his win over Alvey. “Once in a while it’s good to test yourself, and I really had to dig down deep to finish those rounds strong

Following a successful 2012 campaign that saw him go 3-0 (with one no contest), lightweight up-and-comer Justin Harrington picked up his fourth win in a row this past March against Garry Winslow at ROTR 27 in quick fashion. “It was kind of quick,” said Harrington of his 57-second submission victory over Winslow. “With him I wanted to show more of what I’m about and bring a little bit more of my standing game because in my past couple of fights I’ve gotten away from what’s gotten me a lot of my wins, but he made the mistake and I had to capitalize on it.” As one of the Northwest’s top prospects, Harrington has been given an opportunity to showcase his skills in a feature bout on Saturday’s CageSport 26 event at the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, Wash., in a rematch against Levi Peaslee of their July bout from last year

Lance Palmer Carries a New Confidence into RFA 8 Battle with Jared Downing

Heading into this Friday’s RFA 8 show, there are no shortage of top prospects, among them Lance “The Party” Palmer . Since making his debut in 2011, Palmer has gone undefeated in his first six fights, including his most recent bout where he defeated nearly 40-fight veteran Patrick Reeves at Showdown Fights 11. “It was more of a filler fight because I hadn’t fought since November, and it felt good to get back in there,” said Palmer. “It was a good fight for me, the guy had a lot of fight, but I went out and got the finish in the first round with a guillotine from mount. “It was good to set me up for my fight camp for this upcoming fight.” While he’s done well in his career so far, Palmer feels the recent addition of a UFC vet to his coaching staff has helped him raise his game to the next level. “It all starts with Duane Ludwig ,” said Palmer

Erick Silva made quick work of Jason High at UFC on Fuel TV 10 in Fortaleza, Brazil, on Saturday night, re-establishing himself as one of the top prospects in the promotion’s welterweight division. High tried to shoot on Silva, but the Brazilian sprawled out and quickly outmaneuvered High, wrestling him to the mat, and taking his back. From there, Silva slid off to the side, securing High’s arm as he did so. Silva stretched out the armbar, leaving High with no other option but to tap out. Silva was one of the most highly anticipated Brazilian prospects to enter the UFC in quite some time. He is now 3-2 in the Octagon
