TUF China Finale drug-testing results: No TUEs issued for Macau event

The drug-testing results are in for this month’s event in Macau, the TUF China Finale. A UFC official told MMAjunkie all fighters from the eight-bout card were tested, and all tested negative for performance-enhancing drugs and drugs of abuse. Additionally, no therapeutic-use exemptions for testosterone-replacement therapy were in effect for the card. The TUF China Finale took place March 1 at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena in Macau.

Dong Hyun Kim (19-2-1 MMA, 10-2 UFC) solidified a spot on UFC highlight reels with a vicious spinning-back-elbow knockout of welterweight John Hathaway (17-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) in the welterweight main event at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena in Macau.

If Twitter can be believed, a lot of people I know woke up very early (or else stayed up very late) to watch the TUF China Finale on Saturday morning. In fairness, a lot of the people I follow on Twitter are either professional MMA journalists or amateur MMA addicts, but still, it seems slightly insane to me. Maybe that’s just because I’m a person who enjoys sleep, or maybe it’s because I have a 1-year-old daughter who has taken the place of my alarm clock

Matt Mitrione says TUF China Finale KO of Jordan was key for his ‘own self worth’

MACAU – Mired in a rough patch with three losses in four fights, including a pair of first-round setbacks, Matt Mitrione may have been backed into a corner on Saturday. If he was, he responded perfectly by backing Shawn Jordan into a corner and sitting him down with a barrage of punches late in the first round of their TUF China Finale main-card fight in Macau. But Mitrione (7-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) said he wasn’t thinking about what might be at stake with a loss to Jordan (15-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC), a fellow former football player.

UFC announces ‘Fight Night’ return to Macau in August, Japan show in September

The promotion has a pair of “Fight Night” cards set for August and September, UFC executive Mark Fischer told MMAjunkie on Saturday following the TUF China Finale.
