The Bellator 97 weigh-ins have been completed from Stage nightclub at the Santa Ana Star Casino in preparation for Bellator MMA’s July 31 event, which will feature the Bellator Lightweight World Title Fight, the Welterweight World Title Fight and the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Tournament Finals. Bellator MMA will take place at the Santa Ana Star Center on Wednesday, July 31 with the first fight taking place at 3:30 p.m. MT and streaming live on Spike.com. Every UFC on Fuel TV 10 Fighter Returned Clean Drug Test Results

The Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) announced on Friday that all fighters tested on the UFC on Fuel TV 10 fight card that took place on June 8 at the Ginásio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Brazil, returned negative test results for illegal drugs, performance enhancing drugs, stimulants and masking agents. Every fighter on the card submitted pre-fight urine samples. Four randomly chosen fighters submitted post-fight urine samples, as well as main event fighters Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum . Werdum defeated Nogueira in the featured attraction by submission. Leonardo Santos became the second The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil winner by submitting William Macario in the co-main event. The card set the record for number of submission finishes on a single UFC event with eight. The previous record was six.

Douglas Lima injured, tourney final with Ben Saunders off Bellator 97 card

A rib injury has forced Douglas Lima (24-5 MMA, 6-1 BFC) out of a rematch and Season 8 tournament final with Ben Saunders (16-5-2 MMA, 7-2 BFC). Lima confirmed the injury via Twitter following an initial report from Sherdog.com . The bout was supposed to be part of Bellator 97, which takes place July 31 at Santa Ana Center in Albuquerque, N.M. They were expected to be part of the Spike TV-televised main card following prelims on Spike.com. It’s not clear if Saunders will remain on the card. This is the second postponement of the tournament final, which was pushed to the upcoming “Summer Series” after Lima broke his hand in a semifinal-round win over Bryan Baker earlier this year

Saturday’s UFC on FUEL TV 10 card set a new UFC record with eight submissions in 12 fights – and tied a promotional record with 10 total stoppages. The show took place in, of course, the cradle of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. UFC on FUEL TV 10 took place at Paulo Sarasate Arena in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. A UFC on Fuel TV 10 middleweight bout between Ronny Markes and Derek Brunson has been cancelled. UFC officials on Friday confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com , which was first reported by MMAJunkie.com . Markes was reportedly involved in a car accident on Friday morning. He was not seriously injured, but was deemed unable to compete at Saturday’s event in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. Despite the cancellation, Markes and Brunson will both be paid their guaranteed show money for the fight, according to UFC president Dana White . The bout was scheduled to be one of the feature fights on the Facebook streaming portion of UFC on Fuel TV 10. The fight card will now stand at 12 bouts instead of the initial 13. UFC on Fuel TV 10 features a heavyweight rematch between TUF Brazil 2 coaches Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum, and also serves as the reality series’ finale.
