Tyler Manawaroa ‘s manager believes the UFC is trying to wash its hands of the New Zealand-born fighter without considering all the facts surrounding an Instagram photo he posted that led the promotion to announce his pending release from contract. Tony Green, who also co-founded the Australian gym at which Manawaroa now trains, Integrated MMA, emphatically denied the 19-year-old MMA middleweight is a racist and said he would never coach or publicly defend him if he thought otherwise. “I can understand [the UFC is] concerned with the way the company is portrayed and who they attach themselves to,” Green today told MMAjunkie. “But as far as I’m concerned, they’ve overreacted for their own benefit rather then taken into consideration the actual facts of the situation.” Green said he hasn’t spoken to Manawaroa since passing along word of his UFC release, which came on Tuesday, and is concerned about the young fighter’s mental well-being.

‘TUF Nations’ fighter Tyler Manawaroa won’t get UFC contract due to racist Instagram post

Regardless of how he fares on “The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia” reality series, Tyler Manawaroa won’t get a UFC contract. After Canadian welterweight Kajan Johnson recently pointed out Manawaroa’s racist Instagram post from 2012 ( see a screenshot ), the Team Australia fighter was told he won’t be offered a contract, regardless of how he finishes on the FOX Sports 1-televised series. Manawaroa, a part of the Team Australian squad headed by coach/fighter Kyle Noke, recently advanced to the semifinal round of the tournament with a decision victory over Nordine Taleb. However, even if he continues winning the exhibition fights in the pre-taped eight-man tourney, he won’t join the UFC’s official roster once the show concludes in April.

If you missed Wednesday’s airing of “The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia” on FOX Sports 1, you can now watch the episode’s full fight. “TUF Nations,” the latest international edition of the UFC’s long-running reality series, features Canadian Patrick Cote and Australian Kyle Noke as head coaches. Eight-man tournaments take place in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. In the season’s third episode, Team Australia middleweight Tyler Manawaroa took on Team Canada’s Nordine Taleb in a back-and-forth affair that seems sure to contend for “Fight of the Season.” Check out their quarterfinal-round fight above.

So this episode starts with a scene that I heard about while in the house but wasn’t there to experience. After Chad Laprise and Chris Indich ‘s fight, Nordine Taleb was in the gym kitchen with the Aussie team grabbing a drink. Chris, while holding an ice pack on his head goes, “Hey, Nordine. I can take a punch.” He proceeds to say that he heard our team talking trash before the fight about how he can’t take a shot and that this will be the first series that a team sweeps the season going 8-0. When I heard about this, I was a little taken aback because it seemed a little out of Chris’ character from what I knew of him

So I ended up getting into it a little with Team Canada after my loss to Chad Laprise . I think at the time, it was just one of those things where I was still pumped up from the fight.

Episode three of “The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia” opens with the fighters spending time at the house, but it’s not for long, as they quickly move on to training. Highly respected strength and conditioning coach Jonathan Chaimberg visits the gym as a special guest coach for Team Australia. Chaimberg, who is Canadian, says he has trained several members of Team Canada in the past. That includes Chad Laprise , who fights Team Australia’s Chris Indich later in the episode. At the next Team Canada training session, Laprise prepares for his upcoming bout and claims this will be the first time in his career where he’s been completely injury-free

Well, that sucked and was honestly very hard to watch. But it was a must for me in the evolution of my fight game, and it gives me some clear-cut things I need to work on and improve on. Now I know the direction I need to head in for training and things like that. Watching on TV, that was not the fight I remembered in my head.
