Wanderlei Silva Five months after a judge reversed Wanderlei Silva ’s lifetime ban, he will go back before the Nevada State Athletic Commission during its Oct. 29 meeting. “They’re going to impose new discipline based on the order,” Silva’s attorney, Ross Goodman, today told MMAjunkie.

Uriah Hall thanks crazy glasses for helping him get through broken toe at UFC 175

All who watched UFC 175 knew Uriah Hall was in a bad way after the first round of his fight with Thiago Santos. His toe was obviously mangled , and had his cornermen been less insistent the fight go on, his night could have been over. Hall (9-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) told MMAjunkie that not only was his right toe broken against Santos (9-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at the July 5 pay-per-view event, but he also was suffering from an injured ankle that to this day has not been cleared by doctors. Afterward, UFC cameras caught him crying out in pain as the promotion’s medical staff attended to him. Thankfully, Hall reported, he was prepared to fight under grim circumstances. An unusual training regimen helped him adjust to fighting at less than 100 percent

The UFC president told UFC.com he believes Silva was trying to draw attention away from what was about to happen at his hearing in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Tuesday – where he received a $70,000 fine and indefinite suspension, which for all intents and purposes was a lifetime ban from fighting in Nevada.

LAS VEGAS – UFC middleweight Kevin Casey was suspended for one year and fined $5,600 after failing a drug test at July’s UFC 175 event. Nevada State Athletic Commission officials issued the punishment at today’s meeting at Las Vegas’ Grant Sawyer State Office Building. Casey(8-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) knocked out Bubba Bush (8-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in 61 seconds at UFC 175 but then tested positive for drostanolone , a steroid, after the July 5 bout

NSAC issues lifetime ban, $70,000 fine for Wanderlei Silva

LAS VEGAS – If Wanderlei Silva decides to return to fighting, he won’t likely be doing it in Las Vegas. Nevada State Athletic Commission officials today issued an indefinite suspension to the Brazilian brawler while also fining him $70,000, which represents a 35 percent fine of an expected $200,000 purse Silva would have earned at a planned bout a this past July’s UFC 175 event.
