Miesha Tate is back this week, and in a new weight class. Tate (19-8 MMA, 6-5 UFC) will drop down to flyweight from her longtime home at bantamweight when she takes on Lauren Murphy (15-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) to open the main card at UFC on ABC 3 , which takes place Saturday at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. The main card airs on ABC and streams on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN/ESPN+. It’s a critical fight for both, considering many think women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko has all but cleaned out the division.

Nate Diaz famously wasn’t surprised when defeated Conor McGregor and converted his infamous callout into the biggest win of his MMA career. After defeating Michael Johnson at UFC on Fox 17 in 2015, Diaz (20-12 MMA, 15-10 UFC) delivered his now-legendary expletive-laden post-fight speech and called out “The Notorious.” Then-UFC featherweight champion McGregor, was slated to face lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos for the 155-pound title at UFC 196, as he attempted to become the first man to hold two UFC titles simultaneously. But after dos Anjos was forced out due to injury, Diaz stepped in and grabbed the opportunity of a lifetime. McGregor pressed the action early at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and left a big cut above Diaz’s right eye.

Nate Diaz stood in the octagon on Dec. 19, 2015, and listened patiently as UFC commentator Joe Rogan asked him to describe his feelings after beating Michael Johnson via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 17 in Orlando, Fla. “(Expletive) that,” Diaz replied, grabbing for the microphone and looking directly into the camera so that he might address his true audience, a fellow by the name of Conor McGregor . For fans watching live on FOX in the U.S., where certain words simply aren’t allowed on television, the rant that followed was more beeps than words.

Dos Anjos’ (25-8 MMA, 14-6 UFC) decision to pull out of the lightweight title fight on less than two weeks’ notice due to a broken foot started a chain reaction of events that’s still ongoing. Nate Diaz (19-10 MMA, 14-8 UFC) stepped into his slot at UFC 196 and submitted McGregor (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in the second round of a welterweight contest
