The latest chapter in Jon Jones ’ career saga unfolded today. The result was a stiff fine and the revocation of his fight license. The former UFC light heavyweight champion Jones (21-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) sat before the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) today in Anaheim, Calif., and attempted to put forth a defense for a failed drug test around the time of his July 2017 fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 214.

According to a CSAC agenda posted on its website, Jones’ hearing will take place on Feb. 27 in Anaheim, Calif. The hearing venue, a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort, sits a stone’s throw from Disneyland

But according to a report from MMAFighting.com , that’s the newest front in the battle to try and prove the UFC light heavyweight champion didn’t knowingly cheat in his third-round knockout of Cormier that was later overturned . That’s no easy task, and with each new event there is no shortage of fans with strong opinions on how successfully (or not) the UFC has met the challenge. CSAC reschedules Jon Jones’ steroids hearing for early 2018

It’ll be a while longer before the California State Athletic Commission decides Jon Jones ’ fate. Jones, whose original hearing for his doping case was set for Dec. 12 in Sacramento, has been granted a continuance, CSAC executive office Andy Foster told MMAjunkie on Tuesday.
