Rose Namajunas hasn’t had much to say about one of the most infamous incidents in combat sports history – until now. The-then UFC strawweight champion was scheduled to defend her title in a rematch against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 223 on April 7, 2018 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Two days before the event, however, Conor McGregor – enraged the UFC stripped him of the lightweight title and would award the belt to the winner of what was originally scheduled to be a main event between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson – flew in from Ireland with a posse to exact revenge on the perceived slight.

Although the criminal portion of Conor McGregor ’s legal troubles were resolved in July , the civil portion is just getting started. UFC lightweight Michael Chiesa on Monday filed suit against McGregor, alleging the former two-division champion and several unnamed persons attacked him, causing “serious personal, economic, and other injury,” according to the complaint filed in Kings County (N.Y.) Civil Court. TMZ.com first reported the suit, which can be viewed here . Chiesa, via his attorney Joseph W. Murray, levies a half-dozen claims against McGregor and co-defendants Barclays Center, parent company BSE Global, and the unnamed persons: negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring, retention and supervision, and respondeat superior.

Alex Caceres: Artem Lobov tried to apologize for bus attack that canceled UFC 223 fight

LAS VEGAS – Alex Caceres was supposed to fight Artem Lobov at UFC 223 in April, but the fight was called off when Lobov participated in the infamous bus attack alongside Conor McGregor. Caceres (14-11 MMA, 9-9 UFC) didn’t get to fight at that event but returned to the octagon Friday and scored a split-decision victory over Martin Bravo (11-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in a featherweight bout at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale, which took place at Pearl Theatre at The Palms in Las Vegas and aired on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. Lobov (13-14-1 MMA, 2-4 UFC) actually was in Las Vegas for the event and to corner another fighter on the card, and apparently he crossed path with Caceres. According to Caceres, Lobov tried to apologize for his actions, but Caceres wasn’t having it. Gallery Alex Caceres def. LAS VEGAS – Michael Chiesa has finally decided to open up about being one of the victims of Conor McGregor ’s vicious actions during UFC 223 fight week. Chiesa was caught in the crossfire of McGregor’s bus attack that was caught on video in April at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The former two-division UFC champion made a surprise appearance at the arena following media day and attempted to confront Khabib Nurmagomedov, but instead caused widespread damage to others. Chiesa, who was supposed to fight Anthony Pettis on the card, was one of the fighters injured when McGregor threw a dolly through a bus window. Chiesa had multiple cuts on his head and was deemed unfit to fight, forcing the cancellation of his bout.

Conor McGregor court update? No real update; ex-UFC champ’s hearing moved to July 26

Conor McGregor ’s future – in and out of the cage – got little resolution today. The former UFC champion today was in Brooklyn Criminal Court in New York City following an April attack on a bus at UFC 223 . However, as had been expected, McGregor’s (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) appearance – along with teammate Cian Cowley , who was also arrested – was brief and simply saw the scheduling of his next court appearance, which is now set for July 26.

Here we are nearly a month later, and there’s still no official word, which is bound to make people curious, since the initial reaction to the incident was outrage from UFC officials.
