There have been over 650 events in UFC history since its debut in 1993. Of those events, the 10 atop the all-time attendance records provided memorable moments amplified by unique environments with palpable energy. The top 10 largest attendances in UFC history feature six countries: Canada (4), Australia (2), Russia (1), Sweden (1), Mexico (1), and Brazil (1). Eight of the events were pay-per-views, while two of the three most recent were UFC Fight Nights. Five of those events hit the 30,000 attendee mark.

Israel Adesanya always knew his moment would come, and when it did, he’d rise to the occasion. That moment came at UFC 243 when the undefeated Kiwi, already the interim middleweight champion, faced UFC 185-pound champ Robert Whittaker for the unified, undisputed middleweight crown at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia in October 2019. Whittaker came out aggressively at the start of the fight as he looked to knock the super-calm former kickboxer out of his stride in the early exchanges. But as the round progressed Adesanya kept his cool and started to time the Australian’s attacks.

Khalid Taha accepts one-year USADA suspension for banned substance

UFC bantamweight Khalid Taha has accepted a one-year suspension from USADA, after he tested positive for a banned substance. The positive test stems from an in-competition urine sample collected on Oct. 6, the date of Taha’s (14-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) most recent fight. At UFC 243 in Melbourne, Australia, Taha picked up his second promotional victory when he submitted Bruno Silva by third-round arm triangle choke. He missed weight by one pound for the fight, though, and forfeited 20 percent of his purse. The news of Taha’s failed test was released by USADA in a press release Monday .

The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+. In the UFC 243 “Thrill and Agony” preview, we get a behind-the-scenes look at the immediate aftermath of the main event between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker , as well as the co-main event between Daniel Hooker and Al Iaquinta . In the main event, Adesanya (18-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) proved the doubters wrong with his stoppage of Whittaker (20-5 MMA, 11-3 UFC). Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker isn’t looking to remain on the sidelines for long.
