The team commentating the UFC for RMC Sport in Ciryl Gane ’s native France had quite the reaction when “Bon Gamin” claimed the promotion’s interim heavyweight title at August’s UFC 265 with a third-round TKO win over the hard-hitting Derrick Lewis. You don’t need to speak a word of French to feel the energy put forth by UFC veteran Taylor Lapilus and fellow MMA Factory Paris fighter Taylor Lapilus, as well as his broadcast partners Antoine Simon and Samyr Hamoudi. At UFC 265 in Houston, Gane made relatively easy work, all things considered, of hometown fan favorite Derrick Lewis to win the interim heavyweight title with a third-round TKO. Gane picked up a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus and set up a title unification bout against Francis Ngannou.

UFC interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane received a hero’s welcome upon arriving to his home city of Paris. Gane (10-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC), who became the first French-born fighter to win a UFC title, has risen to stardom after his remarkably fast ascent in the sport. The unbeaten 31-year-old scored another dominant win when he stopped Derrick Lewis in the third round to claim the interim title at UFC 265, setting up a highly anticipated title unification bout with his former training partner, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Plenty of people lined up outside Gane’s gym, MMA Factory Paris, to congratulate him. The champ took photos and allowed fans to pose with his belt. Ciryl Gane , the newly crowned UFC interim heavyweight champion, has revealed how much he took home for his win over Derrick Lewis. Gane defeated Lewis via third-round TKO in Houston at UFC 265 earlier this month, setting up the biggest fight of his career against Francis Ngannou to unify the heavyweight title in the near future. But how much did he take home for his efforts against Lewis? In an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe , Gane (10-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) made his purse information public. Before taxes and his cut to his coaches, Gane said his purse was $350,000. After taxes, his team’s cut, and the currency conversion, he claims his take-home was around €160,000 (approximately $188,000).
