A lightweight fight is on tap for UFC Columbus. Viacheslav Borshchev vs. Marc Diakese is in the works for the UFC Fight Night event on March 26 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio. Two people with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the lightweight matchup on Friday but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion hasn’t made an announcement. Borshchev (6-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will look to maintain the momentum of his promotional debut two weeks ago when he stopped Dakota Bush in the first round with a liver shot . Borshchev is riding a four-fight winning streak, which also includes a knockout win last October on Dana White’s Contender Series.

A matchup between rising featherweights is headed to UFC Columbus. Nate Landwehr (15-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) will take on Lerone Murphy (11-0-1 MMA, 3-0-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night on March 26, which takes place at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and airs on ESPN. A pivotal women’s strawweight matchup has been added to the fight card for the UFC’s return to Columbus, OH. The Mar. 28 card at the Nationwide Arena has been bolstered by the addition of a women’s 115-pound fight between Mizuki Inoue and Tecia Torres .

Ohio bound: UFC books March date in Columbus for first time in 11 years

The UFC is heading back to Ohio for the first time in three and a half years, and to the capital city for the first time in 11 years. Thursday, the promotion announced a return trip to Columbus for March. The “Fight Night” event, which doesn’t yet have an announced headliner or broadcast information, will take place at Nationwide Arena on March 28. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale to the general public on Jan. 31
