More than three months after his first pro loss, Eryk Anders is ready to move on. And he has some ideas as to who could help him do that. Anders was on a 10-fight winning streak when he entered a UFC Fight Night 125 headliner with Lyoto Machida in February. Machida wasn’t exactly living his best moment then and was comiong off a three-fight skid with a long layoff in between, but Anders still faced some pretty daunting circumstances as he stepped into a five-round main event – in enemy territory, in what was only his second UFC outing.

Not only was Priscila Cachoeira ’s UFC debut as hard-to-watch as they come, it left her with a long recovery period ahead. But, amid the whirlwind of emotions that followed it, there’s no place for regret. Cachoeira recently had surgery to repair the ACL and meniscus tears suffered in her UFC Fight Night 125 meting with Valentina Shevchenko. She’s been rehabbing her knee five days a week, several hours a day, hoping to speed up the recovery process. She remains confident in her skills and is eager to return to the octagon for her “real” debut. But, though you’ll find no hint of self-pity in Cachoeira’s voice talking to her weeks later, her mind was at a much different place when returned from the hospital early in February.

But if the UFC calls her with a title shot offer against Nicco Montano , her answer is, “Let’s do it tomorrow,” Shevchenko today told MMAjunkie Radio. Dana White promises ‘moron’ Mario Yamasaki will never ref again: ‘He makes me sick’

Mario Yamasaki is not UFC President Dana White’s favorite person – and that’s putting it mildly. During an appearance on “UFC Tonight,” White said of the veteran referee, “I think he’s disgusting, and I never want to see him reffing ever again.” Those remarks followed up White’s already searing criticism of Yamasaki on Instagram following Valentina Shevchenko ’s second-round submission win over Priscila Cachoeira last weekend at UFC Fight Night 125. Yamasaki has come under fire for his reluctance to stop the bout sooner, even as Shevchenko (15-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) battered and bloodied Cahcoeira (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with 230 strikes to just three for the promotional newcomer.

Frank Trigg has as good a reason as anyone to further bury referee Mario Yamasaki for his much-maligned performance in this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 125 co-main event, but he won’t. Trigg (21-9 MMA, 2-5 UFC), a retired fighter who earned a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame , now serves as a referee, and he’s been a victim of Yamasaki’s poor officiating in the past – specifically, in a UFC welterweight title fight with Matt Hughes at UFC 52 in April 2005. Yamasaki failed to identify a low blow in a title fight, and it allowed Hughes to take a major advantage and ultimately end the fight by submission. This pas Saturday, Yamasaki allowed Valentina Shevchenko (15-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) to put a prolonged beating on Priscila Cachoeira (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) that many agree should have ended far earlier than it did . Add longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan to the list of people who thought referee Mario Yamasaki botched his duty to ensure fighter safety at UFC Fight Night 125. Yamasaki has come under fire since Saturday night, when he allowed former UFC bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko (15-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) to put a prolonged beating on newcomer Priscila Cachoeira (8-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) before locking in a second-round submission to end the flyweight bout, which took place at Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Para, Brazil. Since fight night, the circumstances around the ending of the bout have caused a hot debate. UFC President Dana White ripped Yamasaki on Instagram, while the Brazil commission which sanctioned the event also admitted the veteran referee did not do his job at an acceptable standard
