Dominick Reyes continued to shine as his UFC competition got stiffer. Reyes faced fellow up-and-comer Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night 129 in May 2018, and it didn’t take him long to announce his arrival as a light heavyweight contender. Both men came out aggressive, with Reyes throwing an array of kicks to the legs and body of Cannonier. Reyes shot for a single-leg takedown, but Cannonier defended well and made him pay with hard shots to the side of the head

Every single one of Dominick Reyes ’ professional finishes has come in the opening five minutes. In his third UFC outing, the undefeated Reyes (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) was matched up with fellow knockout artist Jared Cannonier at UFC Fight Night 129 in Santiago, Chile. Both fighters were throwing heat right off the bat, with the smaller man Cannonier pressing forward. Reyes was doing a good job of evading Cannonier’s big overhand rights, countering effectively, with in-and-out movement. He also employed some leg kicks to try and slow down Cannonier’s movement. Almost three minutes into Round 1, Reyes clipped Cannonier with a counter left uppercut, which stumbled him back.

On the heels of a successful UFC debut, Andrea Lee suddenly finds herself making waves for the wrong reasons. Over the weekend, Lee (9-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) shared a photo on social media of herself and husband Donny Aaron enjoying time together at a lake. The photo appeared innocent enough until people pointed out that Aaron, who is also Lee’s coach, had a swastika tattoo on his left arm. That led people to dig up another photo showing the Nazi SS bolt symbol tattooed on Aaron’s right arm

How much is a five-round unanimous-decision win over Demian Maia worth? Probably not as much as Kamaru Usman wishes. Usman (13-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) didn’t put on the emphatic, spectacular performance he promised, but he did still manage to dominate Maia (25-8 MMA, 19-8 UFC) for a victory at UFC Fight Night 129 . The welterweight bout was the main event of this past Saturday’s show from Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, and it aired on FS1 following prelims on FS2 and UFC Fight Pass. Usman now boasts an overall 12-fight winning streak, which includes an 8-0 mark in the UFC, after handing Maia the first three-fight skid of his career.

Maia (25-9 MMA, 19-9 UFC) was overworked by Kamaru Usman (13-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) for the majority of five rounds en route to a unanimous- decision loss , which aired on FS1 from Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. It’s the first time in the Brazilian’s career that he’s dropped three consecutive fights. With the fighter now 40, it’s fair to wonder if Maia’s unprecedented skid could spark a desire to exit the sport. He’s lost to three of the best in Usman, Colby Covington and reigning champion Tyron Woodley, though, and he said that’s not enough to convince him to hang up his gloves, especially considering the unfriendly nature of those style matchups.
