Gallery Song Yadong def. Felipe Arantes at UFC Singapore: Best photos view 9 images After 10 years and 31 professional MMA bouts, UFC bantamweight Felipe Arantes is retiring from fighting. Arantes (18-10-1 MMA, 5-6-1 UFC), who was knocked out by Song Yadong at this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 132, announced the decision on his social media on Tuesday. The loss marked a three-fight skid for the 30-year-old Brazilian, who’d been in the UFC since 2011. On a lengthy Instagram post, Arantes said he considered himself “100 percent” accomplished in his career and explained that the decision boiled down to his will to fight not being there anymore. “I’ve always made it clear that I don’t depend on fighting financially, because, through it, I’ve built things that allow me to have a good life,” Arantes said.

We wondered last week if it would be the final week Leon Edwards wouldn’t be part of the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings. The question has been answered. Edwards (16-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) beat longtime contender and former lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone (33-11 MMA, 20-8 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 132 welterweight main event this past Saturday and that was enough to get him onto our chart. Donald Cerrone suffered his fourth loss in his past five fights when he fell short against Leon Edwards in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 132 headliner. Cerrone (33-11 MMA, 20-8 UFC) fell short by unanimous decision against Edwards (16-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in their welterweight main event, which took place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore and streamed on UFC Fight Pass. With the result came some questions about Cerrone’s future. Related Donald Cerrone nearly withdrew from UFC Singapore just hours before fight “Cowboy” has been the most active member of the UFC roster since he joined the organization in 2011, but at 35, he’s hit unfamiliar territory in his career.

He’s not going to Bellator, and there’s a good chance he’s not changing weight classes, either.
