After sitting out for two years with a suspension, and dropping out of the rankings due to inactivity, Chad Mendes found a pretty impressive way to return. Mendes (18-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) this past Saturday knocked out Myles Jury (17-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in the first round of their featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night 133 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. And now that he’s back and active again, Mendes, a three-time title challenger, is eligible to be back in the rankings. He moved pretty quickly right back into the top of the heap at 145 pounds. But UFC Fight Night 133 wasn’t the only event this past weekend.

It meant the former UFC heavyweight champ avoided the first back-to-back losses of his career – he was coming off a knockout loss in a title challenge against then-champ Stipe Miocic 14 months earlier. Dos Santos (19-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) beat former WSOF champion Blagoy Ivanov (16-2-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in a five-round decision in the UFC Fight Night 133 main event at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. After string of split-decision losses, Dennis Bermudez on future: ‘I’ll get back to you’

BOISE, Idaho – This is a man who’s had enough – a onetime contender who can’t quite seem to understand his losing skid or why he keeps ending up on the wrong side of decisions. On Saturday at UFC Fight Night 133, Dennis Bermudez (16-9 MMA, 9-7 UFC) suffered a split-decision defeat to Rick Glenn (21-5-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in yet another loss for the former featherweight contender. In fact, as part of his current four-fight losing skid, Bermudez has suffered three consecutive split-decision defeats. “It’s a tough pill to swallow, for sure,” Bermudez told MMAjunkie after his latest setback, which followed earlier split-decision defeats to Andre Fili and Darren Elkins. Saturday’s main-card defeat, which aired on FS1 from CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, could be the must infuriating one yet, though he’s got reasons to despise each one.

Barcelos (12-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) spent much of his time on the feet against Kurt Holobaugh (17-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) headhunting with an uppercut, and finally in the third round he landed one that put Holobaugh out .

Alejandro Perez wants more tough tests like Wineland after UFC Boise, including Munhoz and Almeida

BOISE, Idaho – Alejandro Perez picked up a close win over a former WEC champion Saturday night, but afterward he wasn’t really thinking about it being a debatable victory. Perez (21-6-1 MMA, 7-1-1 UFC) picked up a unanimous decision over Eddie Wineland (23-13-1 MMA, 5-7 UFC) to close out the prelims at UFC Fight Night 133, which took place at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. The card aired on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. All three judges in Boise gave Wineland the first round and Perez the second and third frames. But of the MMA media members scoring the fight, tracked by MMADecisions.com , only two of 15 scored the fight for Perez. And five of the 13 who gave the fight to Wineland had him taking it 30-27.
