Currently enjoying his best run in years, Tim Means is looking for big fights in the UFC’s welterweight division. Means (32-12-1 MMA, 14-9 UFC) notched his third-straight win, outlasting Nicolas Dalby at UFC Fight Night 190 on Saturday and has two notable names in mind for his next fight. “I think a fight with a guy like Nick Diaz would be fun as hell if he says he’s willing to fight anybody,” Means told MMA Junkie Radio. “But he seems to be only chirping at the guys with big, huge names or whatever. But I’ve been doing this a long time, and if he wants a fun fight, I think that’ll be dynamite, and we’ll see if we can get that dude out of there real quick. He comes with a cool following and a lot of fans behind him, but it’ll just be me and him locked in the cage.” UFC president Dana White recently gave a positive update about Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC), claiming that we will likely see the Stockton star compete this year

Ciryl Gane continued his incredible rise up the UFC’s heavyweight division and will soon find himself fighting for a title. In his latest performance, Gane (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) outpointed vaunted striker Alexander Volkov (33-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC) in the main event of UFC Fight Night 190 , keeping his professional record unblemished. The result proved incredibly important for the 31-year-old Frenchman, who was subsequently granted a surprising interim title fight against Derrick Lewis. Gane also moved up in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie heavyweight rankings, settling in at No. 4.

Although Gane (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) was unable to finish opponent Alexander Volkov (33-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC), his lopsided unanimous decision win at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas showed that the depth of his skill set is increasing, and he has the tools to become champion. For someone who has only been a professional fighter since August 2018, Gane’s run to prominence is nothing short of mind-blowing, and it would very compelling to see if he could get his hands on the belt if given the opportunity.
