Brazil’s athletic commission has denied Scott Jorgensen ‘s appeal of a UFC Fight Night 38 loss, and the result from the event will stand. The Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA, which oversaw March’s “UFC Fight Night 38: Shogun vs. Henderson 2″ event in Natal, Brazil, today denied an appeal filed on Jorgensen’s behalf that claimed an inadvertent head butt from opponent Jussier Formiga led directly to the submission that quickly followed. UFC Fight Night 38 drug tests are clean, Henderson’s testosterone level approved

The Brazilian MMA athletic commission (CABMMA) on Tuesday announced that a total of 26 drug tests were performed for all fighters at UFC Fight Night 38, and the results came back negative. All 22 fighters on the card were tested for steroids/performance-enhancing drugs, as well as drugs of abuse such as cocaine and marijuana upon arrival to Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Additionally, C.B. Dollaway and Cezar Ferreira from the night’s main card, as well as Kenny Robertson and Thiago Perpetuo from the preliminary card, were selected for random post-fight tests. The commission also told MMAjunkie that headliner Dan Henderson , who was granted what is expected to be the final therapeutic-use exemption for testosterone-replacement therapy by the CABMMA, was tested and found to have a testosterone level under the acceptable limit.

Parke (19-2-1 MMA, 3-0-1 UFC) and Santos (12-3-1 MMA, 1-0-1 UFC) fought to a draw at UFC Fight Night 38, which took place earlier this week at Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The main card with Parke-Santos aired on FOX Sports 1. Two of the judges scored the fight 28-28, while a third gave the fight to Santos, 29-27. But in the second round, referee Wernei Cardoso took a point away from Parke without a warning for grabbing Santos’ shorts against the cage. Without the point deduction, which many believed to be excessive without a first warning, Parke would’ve won a split decision.

MMAjunkie today requested and received the list of suspended fighters from the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA), which oversaw the event at Ginasio Nelio Dias in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. After loss to Henderson, ‘Shogun’ Rua to undergo surgery for badly broken nose

Ex-UFC champ Mauricio Rua (22-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC) could undergo surgery this week to repair a badly broken nose suffered in his headlining rematch with Dan Henderson (30-11 MMA, 7-5 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 38. Rua’s manager, Eduardo Alonso, confirmed the news to FOX Sports and said the fighter will visit a doctor on Tuesday in advance of getting the procedure done. Alonso said Rua escaped further damage in the back-and-forth fight, which won both fighters a $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus. Rua took a short right hand in the third round that knocked him to the canvas and led to a stoppage win for Henderson, who was winless in 2013 with three straight losses. The fight was a rematch from a “Fight of the Year” meeting at UFC 139 that saw Henderson emerge with a unanimous decision after five rounds
