It’s been a bit since we’ve had the chance to see Donald Cerrone get his hand raised. “Cowboy” currently is mired in a three-fight slump – the first losing skid of his lengthy pro career. It’s remarkable, really, to think about: Cerrone went nearly 40 fights against some of the best in the business and never lost consecutive fights till recently. On Sunday, Cerrone (32-10 MMA, 19-7 UFC) has a chance to break out of his slump when he meets Yancy Medeiros (15-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 126 main event

For starters, the two have had a pleasant little back-and-forth on social media in recent weeks. And then there’s the fact the two have a strong enough resume to lead us to believe we could be in for a “Fight of the Night”-caliber scrap. Will Caraway, boyfriend of UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, be out for revenge for the times Sterling has called him “Mr. Tate”?

UFC Fight Night 45 reactions: Winning and losing fighters on social media

UFC President Dana White may not read the Internet, as he often says, but for a majority of the MMA community, the sport lives and breaths through websites, forums and, perhaps most importantly, social media. Fighters interact with fans, each other and many more through the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, which helps outsiders get a deeper look into the minds of the athletes. Following Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 45 from Atlantic City’s Revel Casino Hotel, several of the winning and losing fighters, along with their coaches, training partners and family members, took to social media to react to the event or share a message with supporters. In our UFC Fight Night 45 video recap, MMAjunkie’s John Morgan discusses the biggest surprises and disappointments from Wednesday’s entertaining card at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. The FOX Sports 1-televised lineup provided a stellar night of MMA. With six stoppages on the six-fight main card, there were few things to complain about it.
