Clarke was undergoing intramuscular stimulation (IMS) treatment to rehabilitate some training injuries when a small acupuncture-like needle broke off in his arm .

Charles Oliveira released from hospital, UFC announces

Charles Oliveira UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira was released from a hospital today and came back negative for serious injuries following his headliner at Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 74. Although his manager, Wade Hampel, told MMAjunkie that Oliveira suffered a “micro-tear” in his esophagus, necessitating a five-day wait period before considering surgery, the promotion announced “preliminary test results for major chest, neck or throat injuries were negative.” “Oliveira will have a follow up appointment with his local physician upon returning home,” said the statement, released on the UFC’s official website on Tuesday afternoon. “Oliveira is in good spirits and appreciates the support he’s received from his fans during this time.” The lanky Brazilian was in the midst of a headliner opposite Max Holloway when he lunged for a takedown and wound up on his back

Erick Silva Erick Silva is understandably critical of his performance in a split-decision loss to Neil Magny in Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 74 co-headliner. Silva (18-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC), typically a fast, explosive and dynamic welterweight, looked sluggish against Magny (16-4 MMA, 9-3 UFC) at the FOX Sports 1-televised event, which took place at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He had a few high points over the 15-minute bout, but Magny ultimately had the better performance and left the octagon with a well-deserved victory. Silva didn’t wait long to explain his lackluster performance.

Prior to her recent bout at UFC Fight Night 74, Maryna Moroz scored a major upset after defeating Joanne Calderwood in her promotional debut. The 23-year-old Ukrainian then called for a title fight with Jedrzejczyk . She didn’t get the bout, and instead, Moroz (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) was knocked down and ultimately suffered a lopsided decision loss to Valerie Letourneau (8-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) on Sunday at UFC Fight Night 74 in Canada. Nikita Krylov ready to ‘climb the ladder’ following UFC Fight Night 74 victory

The win was yet another first-round finish for Krylov (19-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC). In fact, every victory in the Ukranian’s career has come in the opening frame. But the win wasn’t without a scare as Lima (13-3-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) locked in a deep guillotine choke that appeared to have him on the verge of winning the bout, which aired on FOX Sports 1 from SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Krylov survived the scare and made it clear after the fight that he had no intention to submit, no matter how deep the choke. “I wouldn’t tap,” Krylov told MMAjunkie following his victory.
