Think about this for a minute: Starting July 7 with UFC Fight Night 90, and ending with UFC 204 on Oct. 8, a stretch of 93 days, the UFC put on 15 shows. That’s one event every six days or so. After the cancellation of UFC Fight Night 97, we won’t see another show until UFC Fight Night 98 in Mexico City on Nov

Gall (2-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) fought Mike Jackson (0-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 82 with Brooks at ringside. He wasted little time in landing a right hand that dropped Jackson before taking the back and securing a rear-naked choke for the victory .

Even in the short fight, it didn’t take long for Thompson to realize that he had Hendricks where he wanted him. Manager: Travis Browne ready to fight Roy Nelson in May

Want to see some big men throwing big shots? UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis thinks he has the perfect matchup. This past Saturday at UFC Fight Night 82, Lewis (14-4 MMA, 5-2 UFC) steamrolled fellow heavyweight Damian Grabowski (20-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) via first-round punches – and then detailed a far-from-serious plan to fight UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor next month. However, early this morning, “The Black Beast” made a pitch for a much more likely matchup – one against Roy Nelson (21-12 MMA, 8-8 UFC). Nelson also fought at the FOX Sports 1-televised UFC Fight Night 82 event in Las Vegas, but his co-main event win over Jared Rosholt (14-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) came via lackluster unanimous decision . Nelson, though, ended a three-fight losing skid and possibly saved his job, so his priority probably wasn’t to please the crowd that night.

Ovince Saint Preux takes ankle injury in stride after telling the pain to go away

Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos LAS VEGAS – Ovince Saint Preux had an interesting way of dealing with an ankle injury during the first round of his fight with Rafael Cavalcante. He just told his brain to make the pain go away or something. Whatever he did, it worked. Or at the very least, it didn’t hold Saint Preux (19-7 MMA, 7-2 UFC) back from dominating Cavalcante (12-7 MMA, 1-4 UFC) for a unanimous decision win on the main card of UFC Fight Night 82 on Saturday night. Their fight wasn’t a barnburner on the FOX Sports 1-televised main card at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but it was impressive for Saint Preux in other ways. “I was backing up and he started going forward,” Saint Preux told MMAjunkie at the post-event news conference, describing how he came to injure his right ankle to begin with.
