For the fourth time in five fights, Curtis Blaydes headlined a UFC show this past Saturday. The UFC’s return to a full house of fans in Columbus, Ohio, saw Blaydes look about as perfect as he could have hoped. He didn’t rely on his wrestling at all against Chris Daukaus.

UFC returned to the road in Columbus, Ohio, and ONE Championship returned to Singapore, creating memorable events last weekend. There were a number of performances that caused a buzz aside from the main events, including Kai Kara-France’s potential title eliminator victory over Askar Askarov, and Neil Magny’s record-setting win over Max Griffin at UFC on ESPN 33 . At ONE X , former UFC flyweight champion defeated Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a mixed-rules contest and Yoshihiro Akiyama defeated Shinya Aoki, putting their classic rivalry to rest

UFC on ESPN 33 medical suspensions: Curtis Blaydes among four facing lengthy terms

Curtis Blaydes may have had a flawless performance at UFC on ESPN 33, but he didn’t come out unscathed. Blaydes scored a second-round knockout of Chris Daukaus in this past Saturday’s headliner at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, but will need clearance from an orthopedic doctor for his right foot before returning to action. Also looking at indefinite terms are Danaa Batgerel , who was knocked out by Chris Gutierrez, Marc Diakiese who needs clearance from an orthopedic doctor for his right hand and right foot after he defeated Viacheslav Borshchev by unanimous decision, and Borshchev himself, who needs his right wrist and right foot checked out. Wednesday, MMA Junkie acquired a full list of medical suspensions from Ohio Athletic Commission executive director Bernie Profato.

Curtis Blaydes advises Chris Daukaus to drop to 205 pounds: ‘Not everyone’s a heavyweight’

Curtis Blaydes doesn’t think the heavyweight division is the right fit for Chris Daukaus . After sharing the octagon in Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 33 main event at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, Blaydes (16-3 MMA, 11-3 UFC) is convinced a drop down to light heavyweight would be the best career move for Daukaus (12-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC), who has now lost back-to-back fights following a second-round TKO defeat . “I think honestly, no shade, he should probably drop down to light heavyweight,” Blaydes told MMA Junkie and other reporters post-fight at UFC on ESPN 33.
