The UFC Vegas 87 fight card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas was headlined by a heavyweight title bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Gaziev. Rozenstruik entered the fight coming off a submission loss to Jailton Almeida in his last outing. Gaziev made his promotional debut in December after picking up a quick submission win on Dana White’s Contender Series. With a TKO win in his debut, Gaziev was looking to remain unbeaten. Rozenstruik landed first with a leg kick followed by his jab. Rozenstruik landed a right hand.

A flyweight bout with massive implications in the division was featured on Saturday’s UFC Vegas 87 fight card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Seventh-ranked Alex Perez took on eighth-ranked Muhammad Mokaev in a fight that would determine which one moved on to contender status. Former title challenger Perez entered the bout coming off back-to-back losses to Alexandre Pantoja and Deiveson Figueiredo. Mokaev made the walk to the octagon sporing an undefeated record. Mokaev connected first with a leg kick. He pressed forward with an uppercut.

Umar Nurmagomedov dominates Bekzat Almakhan

A bantamweight bout between two of the most promising prospects in the bantamweight division was featured on Saturday’s UFC Vegas 87 fight card. Undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov faced Bekzat Almakhan at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas Saturday afternoon. Nurmagomedov had finished three of his four UFC opponents and hadn’t tasted defeat in his eight-year mixed martial arts career. Almakhan was making his promotional debut but entered Saturday’s showdown riding an eight-fight winning streak. Almakhan went high with a kick that Nurmagomedov blocked. Nurmagomedov responded with a leg kick.
