Arman Tsarukyan: Conor McGregor too busy smoking weed to fight

After defeating Joaquim Silva, Arman Tsarukyan surprised some people by calling for a fight with Michael Chandler. That was surprising because Chandler is supposed to be facing Conor McGregor following their stint as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter. McGregor, however, has yet to re-enter the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency drug testing pool, which he must do for six months before he can fight again. He’s also been caught out by more out-of-the-cage controversies, from a half-time skit gone awry with the Miami Heat mascot and a woman alleging that he “violently raped” her at Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Tsarukyan, however, didn’t point to any of those controversies when saying that McGregor appeared to be out of the Chandler fight.

Floyd Mayweather bout explodes into chaos with gangster’s grandson

Floyd Mayweather has been making bank since he retired from professional boxing by fighting exhibition bouts. His most recent bout, opposite mixed martial artist and grandson of famous gangster John Gotti, went haywire. Mayweather and John Gotti III were supposed to have fought an eight-round exhibition bout. The situation has been volatile from the get go, but went over the top when Gotti was disqualified for holding Mayweather too much during the fight. Referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight during round six, disqualifying Gotti. The grandson of famed American gangster John Gotti of the Gambino crime family in New York, Gotti III was upset with the stoppage and stormed Mayweather.

Following a blistering performance at UFC 289, defeating Beneil Dariush inside of the first round, it will be hard to deny “Da Bronx” a shot at regaining the UFC lightweight championship. Oliveira lost the belt before stepping into the Octagon opposite Justin Gaethje. He missed weight while holding the belt, which meant that he would not retain the belt, even though he won the fight. Oliveira then lost to Islam Makhachev in an attempt to regain the belt. That put him on the outside looking in, but with such an impressive finish of Dariush at UFC 289, it will be hard to deny he should get another crack at the title.
