During the course of The Ultimate Fighter’s seventeenth season, middleweight Uriah Hall emerged as one of the highest touted fighters in the show’s eight-year history. He entered the season’s finale as a heavy favorite over the youngest cast member, Kelvin Gastelum. Gastelum, however, imposed his will on Hall en route to a unanimous decision victory in the final.

A planned UFC on Fox Sports 1: Shogun vs. Sonnen bout between Ultimate Fighter 17 runner-up Uriah Hall and Nick Ring is off. UFC officials on Monday announced that Ring is out of the fight, but added that Hall’s fellow TUF 17 cast mate Josh Samman has already agreed to take his place. UFC on Fox Sports 1 #1 takes place on Aug.
