The strike displaced a metal plate that was inserted in the area in 2023, when Ribas suffered a mid-fight orbital bone fracture against Maycee Barber .

The opportunity to capture his first UFC victory will have to wait for a later date. Mulhern was scheduled to face Thiago Tavares at UFC Fight Night 32 on Nov. 9, but an injury has forced the lightweight off the card. Justin Salas has agreed to replace Mulhern against Tavares on short notice. UFC officials confirmed the injury and opponent change on Friday

He dislocated his big toe, which looked like something out of a horror film, the bone poking through his skin, his toe dangling from his foot. That was nearly five months ago, and Jones now says that he – and his toe – is good to go for Saturday’s UFC 165 main event.
