Daley (33-12-2) announced the news on Tuesday via his Facebook page. “Yes, I have signed to BAMMA. Exclusive to the UK, still expect to see me fighting around the world with other organizations, such as in November in Russia with LEGEND,” Daley wrote. Daley was recently released from Bellator MMA on July 25 due to legal troubles stemming from a bar fight in his native England and visa issues that prevented him from traveling to the U.S. The new deal marks Daley’s return to BAMMA.  The 30-year-old has previously fought twice for the British-based organization, missing weight both times. “Semtex” feels the conditions of the contract are perfect for his current situation.

Gomes (10-2) was supposed to meet Julia Budd at tonight’s Invicta FC 6 card. Then Charmaine Tweet stepped in for an injured Budd. And when Tweet had visa issues, she was replaced by Tamikka Brents (2-0). And to make matters just a little bit worse for tonight’s fight, the bout isn’t at featherweight – it’s at a 150-pound catchweight since Brents had such a short time to make the cut. (And even then, Brents came in at 155 pounds and the contract was adjusted to be a lightweight bout; Gomes came in a pound under the original bout agreement limit at 149 pounds at Friday’s weigh-ins.) Even before Gomes knew Brents was going to miss weight, she was unhappy fighting at 150 pounds. “I don’t want to fight at 150 pounds,” Gomes told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

Stepping in to face Gomes will be Tamikka Brents (2-0). Promotion officials late Wednesday confirmed a report of the injury from MMARising.com . Invicta FC 6 takes place Saturday at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. The event airs on pay-per-view in North America, and international viewers can watch via an online pay-per-view stream, each for $14.95

Despite reports on Monday that Sonnen (27-13-1 MMA, 6-6 UFC) would fill in for an injured Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC 161 later this month against Mauricio Rua (21-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC), that fight won’t happen. Instead, UFC 161 will move forward with 11 fights, and “Shogun” will wait to fight another day – perhaps still against Sonnen. The UFC made the announcement late Monday night that Rua had been removed from the card.
