In a scramble-heavy fight, Abu Azaitar got past Vitor Miranda with a unanimous decision. Azaitar (14-2-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) got the win in his promotional debut with a pair of 30-27 scores and a 29-28 over Miranda (12-7 MMA, 3-4 UFC). The middleweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 134 event at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. It aired on FS1 following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. Azaitar worked on the outside, then blocked a high kick from Miranda. The two looked for openings for several minutes, but with 90 seconds left in the round Miranda landed a takedown and got to half-guard

Middleweight Vitor Miranda is aware of what’s at stake as he brings a two-fight skid into Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 134. “Inevitably, if I lose, they will cut me,” Miranda told MMAjunkie. “So I need to win.” When Miranda (12-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) says that, it isn’t in the somber tone one would expect from such a conclusion. In fact, as important as the meeting with Abu Azaitar (13-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) might be for his UFC future, Miranda says there is no pressure heading into it. “Especially because there are other (promotions) paying very well in Europe, too” Miranda said

WSOF, ACB and KSW vet Abu Azaitar is again set for his first UFC fight. UFC officials today confirmed a bout between Azaitar (13-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and middleweight Vitor Miranda (12-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) that’s slated for UFC Fight Night 134 (via Instagram ): UFC Fight Night 134 takes place July 22 at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. It airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass, though the full fight card and bout order haven’t been finalized. Azaitar, a 32-year-old Moroccan-German fighter, signed with the UFC in 2017 and was tentatively scheduled to fight Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC Fight Night 115 in September, but an injury forced him off the card

Vitor Miranda vs. Marvin Vettori has been added to UFC Fight Night 112, according to a report from Brazilian media outlet Globo.com . The event is scheduled to take place June 25 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla., and air on FS1 with early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. Both Miranda and Vettori will enter the octagon coming off losses. Miranda, 38, had been on a three-fight win streak before losing a unanimous decision to Chris Camozzi last May at UFC Fight Night 88.
